Strength in numbers

Today my coupled friends Dennis and Emma arrived in all its grandeur. Of course their flight was delayed about 1½ hours but that gave me some time to get my act together. I was going to meet them by their residence in Newport but they had asked me to pick up some stuff for them beforehand. Since I pretty much stressed through my morning routine, without having breakfast, I decided to try the local cuisine in Newport consisting of toast, egg and bacon. Kristoffer K knows what I’m talking about. Deciding that the breakfast was one of Champions, I strolled out, bought a pack of beer, a pair of cigars and made headway towards the lodge. The man behind the counter asked if I was South African. I said “Close but no cigar”. He chuckled. As it usually is with me and Dennis, we always have an uncanny way of timing each other. Whatever the occasion. This time was no different. 3 steps from the taxi he swung the door open and we both agreed that all is as it should be. Resting now in the lodge, we will proceed to paint the town red, or a darkish green, or for as long as they can stay awake. I remember that I wasn’t so tough either when I first arrived having a jet lag of 8 hours. Great times are on the horizon! //The Joker
